Turn that frown upside down. But how?

It’s one of those phrases that get said to you. It’s right up there with “Why so glum chum?” and “cheer up! Put on a happy face”. It’s very easy to say it but quite another to do it. How can you lighten your mood? One way is to truly pamper and look after yourself with a bit of me time at a Cotswolds Spa Retreat. However there are other ways to try and bring the real happy you back to the forefront. Here are a few ideas.

  1. Getting some exercise in. It might be a bit tricky at the moment but a solid bit of exercise is a great way to get you back on track. If you can, go for a nice long walk around a park or forest. In fact do a bit of forest bathing and lie down on a blanket and listen to the wind in the trees.

  1. Napping. Feeling tired? Then go for a lie down. Don’t try and push through it, that will get you nowhere fast. If your body is saying to get some sleep then listen to it. If you’re new parents try to sleep when the baby does. That washing and those dishes are not going anywhere. Let them wait and get some shut eye.

  1. Don’t go and stick some Radiohead, Pink Floyd or Leonard Cohen on. Whilst they make great tunes it’s a good idea to go with something happy and upbeat rather than something reflective of your mood. Jolly tunes will make you feel a bit better
  2. Take a break. Yes we have deadlines, yes there is a lot to do but you need to have a break. Make a nice cup of tea or coffee. Indulge in it.
